Bonita Springs family accused of making fake IDs

A sting operation using an undercover detective and another person resulted in the arrests Wednesday of three members of a Bonita Springs family accused of making fake resident alien and Social Security cards.

Robert “Tio” Cruz, 44, his wife, Eva Cruz, 32, both of the 27000 block of New York Street, Bonita Springs, and their son, scannable fake ids Alex Cruz Juarez, 19, who also lists an address of the 2800 block of Georgia Street, Bonita Springs, were each charged with multiple counts of selling, manufacturing or delivering false or stolen identifications and possession of stolen driver’s license information.

Beginning on March 24, deputies and the other person, whose name was not provided, fake id began purchasing resident alien and Social Security cards. They paid $120 for two sets of cards up to $600 for five sets of cards. They continued the purchases once a month through Aug. 31, going to the parents’ house to order and pick them up. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement also was involved in the sting.

At one point, the detective was asked his employment. He replied he worked with migrant farm workers and “that is how he continues to find him new customers for his business. buy fake ids Robert agreed stating a lot of the work camps now require property identification.”
